This wavy ceramic tray is entirely hand-built, one fold at a time — no two ever come out quite the same. Its deep, rippled edges cradle a moody blue drip glaze that pools into every curve, sitting over a warm, speckled interior and a matte near-black clay body. At 30 x 16 x 3 cm, it's fully food safe and made to be used, not just displayed.

Three ways to use it

Set it out for serving — cheese, olives, roasted nuts, or a scatter of fruit settle naturally into its folds. On a nightstand or vanity, the same curves work as a catchall for rings, keys, and the small things you empty from your pockets each night. Or let it stand alone on a shelf or console as a sculptural piece in its own right, no styling required.

Why I make ruffles

For me, ruffles are an expression of how life is never flat — it's full of ups and downs, and that's exactly what makes it beautiful. I fold that into the clay instead of smoothing it away. Every ruffle is shaped by hand, so the folds on your tray are unrepeatable — a small, human imperfection built into a piece meant to be lived with.
